ABOUT US
Catron County Cares was started by community members who were working alone to help increase access to healthcare in Catron County. Our shared frustration with the lack of access to medical care, equipment, transportation, and life saving services available in our frontier county naturally brought us together, and Catron County Cares was formed; with the simple purpose of creating common sense community-led solutions to healthcare in our often forgotten corner of the world.
Formed in January 2025, CCC has been working diligently to find common sense solutions to healthcare access that are sustainable long-term. Our first project, CCC Emergency Kiosks, are an excellent example of this. Our emergency kiosks will house an AED, first aid kit, pulse oximeter, naloxone, sharps disposal container, as well as other triage equipment.
Unique communities require unique solutions, and we know that our county relies heavily on spread-out volunteer emergency services. Our kiosks will allow for a meeting spot, where community members can travel after or while calling 911, and begin triaging themselves, family, or friends, while they wait for emergency services to arrive.
We also know that providing emergency care is scary, and often we don't know how to best respond in an emergency situation, which is why we will also be offering FREE CPR and First Aid training to any community member who wants it. We want you to feel capable and comfortable when the situation to use our kiosks arises!
